Introduction

The regional centre of the Central Hindi Institute, Mysore Centre, was established in the year 1988. The main work of the centre is to impart teaching-training and propagate Hindi. Mysore Centre, under the teaching-training of Hindi, organised short-term refresher courses of 3-4 weeks to impart practical knowledge of modern techniques of Hindi teaching to Hindi teachers of primary, high school and intermediate and to conduct 2-week practical courses for Hindi teachers of universities and colleges. Under the promotion, the centre also conducted 1-week Rajbhasha, translation and technical courses for government officials, translators and scientists. At present, 10-day refresher courses are organised for Hindi teachers.

The Mysore Centre of the Central Hindi Institute was started in 1988. Earlier, the jurisdiction of the centre was only Karnataka state, but since 1992, its jurisdiction has been extended to include Kerala and the Union Territory of Lakshadweep along with Karnataka state.

  • check-icon At present, 10-day renewal programmes are organised for Hindi teachers serving in the states falling under the jurisdiction of the Centre. Through these renewal programmes, teachers are introduced to the latest techniques of language teaching, information is given about the structure of Hindi and efforts are made to maintain continuous awareness among them regarding the use of standard Hindi. Contribution is made in the promotion of Hindi through small budgetary and national seminars .
