'Gaveshna' is the oldest quarterly research journal of the Central Hindi Institute. The publication of this journal was started by the Institute during 1962-63. The first issue was published in January 1963. It enjoys immense respect and prestige in the Hindi academic world.
Initially, this magazine was published semi-annually. Later, its publication period was made quarterly. Research papers, thoughtful articles, book reviews and important news related to the activities of the Hindi academic world written by authoritative scholars and researchers related to applied Hindi linguistics, language teaching, teaching techniques and literary thinking are included in Ghaveshna. From time to time, its special issues have been published focusing on relevant topics related to the fields of Hindi language, literature, linguistics, language teaching etc. and many renowned litterateurs and linguists, which have been collectible for the readers.
Till now a total of 139 issues of this magazine have been published.
